2023 Zinfandel, Amador County

The 2023 Zinfandel from Amador County experienced a dry winter, bud break and flowering happened as normal, followed by a hot summer. The region’s hot days and cool nights contributed to optimal ripening, showcasing bold fruit flavors. Fruit came in beautifully ripe, concentrated, and dark, with great complexity and tannin structure. The volcanic and granitic soils in Amador County add a unique minerality, enhancing the wine’s complexity. Traditional winemaking techniques such as extended maceration and French oak aging of 18 months crafted a Zinfandel with rich, jammy fruit characteristics and a balanced structure.
